Our incredibly talented and energetic team is expanding, and we’re searching for a skilled and data-driven Backend QA Engineer to help us drive strategic decision-making and scale to new heights.
Your Impact & Responsibilities:
- API Testing (Primary Focus): Perform extensive REST API testing, covering sanity, regression, functionality, and load testing to ensure system reliability and performance, including writing and maintaining Postman test collections for automated regression testing.
- Manual Testing: Conduct manual testing of backend systems and dashboards, and ensure reliability of client/server integrations.
- Defect Investigation & Root Cause Analysis: Analyze logs, API responses, and database records to investigate issues, ensuring a quick and precise resolution of issues.
- Post-Production Verification: While deployments are executed by developers, you will be responsible for ensuring that post-production testing runs smoothly, identifying any potential issues after releases.
- Process Analysis & Business Understanding: Be a key partner in analyzing, understanding, and defining business processes and workflows, identifying potential gaps, and ensuring smooth system operations.
- Test Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintain structured test cases and documentation in TestRail and Jira, continuously improving testing strategies.
- Cloud-Oriented Environments: Work within a cloud-based infrastructure, performing testing in AWS-powered environments and ensuring smooth backend operations.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and business teams to align quality assurance efforts with business objectives.
Requirements
- Experience in Manual Testing, particularly for backend systems and dashboards.
- Strong API Testing Experience using Postman, with the ability to write and maintain Postman test collections for automated regression testing.
- Basic SQL Knowledge – Ability to write simple queries with at most one JOIN operation.
- Familiarity with Cloud Environments & AWS Services, particularly ECS, EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Business-Oriented Mindset & Strong Communication Skills – Ability to align testing strategies with business goals and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong Analytical & Investigative Skills – Ability to diagnose and resolve issues using logs, API responses, and data analysis.
- Experience with Test Management & Bug Tracking Tools, such as Jira & TestRail.
